My family and I wanted to rent a boat to go out whale watching. We found the nicest boat for the price. It was beyond clean and the owner was super friendly. We rented the Sea Ray 2013 boat and it was in great condition. My husband manned the boat so we didn't need the captain and we went out to sea and luckily got to see whales and seals. It was the most amazing experience. I would definitely recommend Captain Newport for your future boat rental needs. It had all the amenities and I brought food on board for us. It was the perfect amount of time (8 hours) to explore the ocean and even dock and swim to shore. We had so much fun and didn't want the day to end. I highly recommend using Captain Newport for any and all of your boat rental needs. They answered my email so quickly and were there to greet my family and I when we boarded. It was a smooth process and I can't wait for our next boating adventure. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! They have three boats so I'm excited to try the newest one 2015 in the weeks to come.

We rented this boat for my wife's birthday and had a blast. We comfortably fit 6 people all day . The boat is very clean and everything worked perfectly. The cabin is comfortable and spacious. My wife and I stayed on the boat overnight. Reuben was very friendly and promptly answered questions (via text) while we were out on the water. Can't say enough nice things about Reuben or this boat. Stop thinking about it and just book it. You won't regret it.

I had such an awesome experience renting a boat from Rueben and his guys. My buddy Ross knew these guys and I didn't know what to expect, but it was such a blast and honestly I can't wait to do it again. We had a group of 6 and we rented a 2012 27ft. Sea Ray Sundancer. The boat was clean and in great working order. We were on the boat for about 7 hours or so, which sounds like a long time but it went by really quick. Make sure to bring plenty of water, food, towels, sunscreen, and of course music. I was able to practice steering the boat which was a lot of fun. Great for group adventures, dates, or any excuse possible. You'll feel like you went on vacation. Great staff and very accommodating. Looking forward to the next adventure with Captain Newport!

we rented this boat for a day out in the water and it was amazing. The boat was spacious beautiful, well taken care of and fast! We went about half way to Catalina in about 2 hours not going fast at all since my wife was 7 months pregnant. And anchored out past Huntington Beach pier just to sit out in the sun for a little bit! Over all we had an amazing experience especially for the price! We had three couples and all fit nicely on the boat with extra room to spare! So between us all the price was very low.

Rented a 27ft Sea Ray cabin cruiser for the afternoon with my family of four. Boat was clean and functioned flawlessly. We spent most of our time in Newport Harbor but also did run down the coast to Laguna Beach. Was nice to have the cabin and head at our disposal if needed, but spent most of our time outside - teens on the bow had a blast. Next time we'll go out to Catalina, was so much fun. Staff was on time and super friendly. Only complaint is we had asked everyone to wear masks as my wife is immunosuppressed and on dialysis, but person who greeted us at the end wasn't wearing a mask. That of course had nothing to do with the boating experience, which was lovely overall.

I got one of the yachts for my sisters bday and it was soo gorgeous and clean upon arrival.. we wanted to take my grandpa out to sea since he wanted to join for my sisters bday and we were a little worried about the process since he is handicap. Boat was totally clean, full of gas and in tip top condition. Had so much fun cruising down to Emerald Bay and through the Newport Harbor. The staff was extremely clear, patient, and helpful! I HIGHLY recommend using them!

100%! Ruben was fantastic in setting up the excursion for our family. I was nervous, as this was my first time setting up something like this and had no idea where to begin; but Ruben called me to confirm and sent me perfect instructions, boat was easy to find among the hundreds at the marina. Captain Troy did a great job entertaining my kids, taking us to the buoy to see the sea lions and set us in the perfect spot for dolphin watching. We did a 4-hour morning run, and my only regret was not reserving the boat for a longer period. The clouds started burning off mid way through the trip and then the sun came out and it was just a perfect afternoon. The boat was beautiful and a good size for our family that consisted of two smaller children and 5 adults. Could easily take on a few more pax, but we liked having the extra space. This is definitely is a repeat activity for us!

Rented a boat for 4 hours. Meet Reuben prior to renting, he showed me the boat and then we talked to Captain Rick about what we would do the day we go out. The renting process was very smooth and professional. The boat was in very good condition and Captain Rick was experienced and very friendly with my Kids.
Had a wonderful time. Saw sea lions, dolphins and one whale. Then anchored in Laguna and had a nice swim.

Great boat, great time! We had been looking for while for a Sea Ray or similar sized boat/yacht to rent and we're thrilled when we finally found this company. We booked the 2015 Sea Ray 260 for 4 hours. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 1 child and we had plenty of room. The boat was easy to handle (as per my husband) and the best part was we were able to take it out on the ocean and cruise the coast!

It was such an amazing experience being able to sail out into seas and enjoy the beauty of nature. Captain Newport is fabulous!!! I called Reuben a few weeks ago to inquire about renting a boat for my boyfriend's 40th birthday. Reuben was more then patient, answering all of my questions and then some. The day of, he let my friend go to the boat early in the morning to decorate and set up. He and Joe even helped her load everything onto the boat! We rented the Formula 330 on July 3rd and had an amazing time. We fit 13 people on the boat and it didn't feel crowded at all! We went down to Catalina and the boat handled beautifully. The boat was in imaculate condition. I will definitely be renting a boat again from Reuben! Thanks for a great day!!

My wife and I rented the 2012 Sea Ray over Independence Day weekend and took it out with some friends. We had the best time you could possibly hope for!!

The boat itself was gorgeous, ran like new and had plenty of room for all 8 of us. The checking in and out of the boat process was as quick and easy as you could possibly imagine, especially considering how anxious you are to get on the boat and get going, as well as how tired you are after you're done. Joe and Ruben were super friendly throughout the whole process. We ended up keeping the boat an extra hour because we were having a great time and since the next reservation was later in the day, they were super accommodating.

I did a lot of research on boat rental places, as well as boat options...this place not o my had the best boats, but they were so friendly and accommodating.

We will absolutely be renting again from these guys!!!

Finally, a boat rental company with newer, cleaner, larger boats! My brother and I took our Dad over to Avalon for the weekend and Reuben and his Captain Newport boat options were exactly what we were looking for. The Catalina ferry options are fine for simple transportation to/from the island - but boring, and then you have no boat for fishing, snorkeling and exploring while on the island. The value was excellent, Joe met us at the dock at our departure and at our return to explain all boat systems, operation, etc. and we had an amazing experience. We took the new 27' Sea Ray but next time I'm upgrading to the 39' Donzi! Planning a bay cruise around Newport for my brother's birthday on the 33' Formula or the 39' Donzi in August, may have Reuben provide a Captain for that trip though... Definitely recommend Captain Newport - clean, larger, well maintained boats (which you just don't find with most boat rental company's), and a super responsive polite owner.

Captain Newport is Awesome!!! Three of us rented the 2015 Sea Ray and took it out to Catalina for two nights. Captain Newport is the best! For my 31st Birthday we rented the 2013 Sundancer and headed down to some of the private beaches along the Newport Coast. Along the way we encountered about 30 dolphins who made the experience very memorable and special for the group. The Captain Newport team provided excellent customer service and guidance without getting in the way of our experience. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to have a luxury experience on the water.

Decided to rent a boat and wow what a great experience! Joe met us at the dock and went over everything. Boat ran great and we had so much fun! Weather was perfect, Joe was at the dock upon our return... love him! He is so funny. Will be renting again! Why buy, pay to store it and maintenence when you can have this much fun at a fraction of the cost?!?!

This is an easy review! Wonderful experience. Captain Reuben was excellent at helping us get our charter scheduled. I actually booked the wrong day, my error and he went above and beyond to try to get it switched. It ended up better that we went on the day I actually scheduled. Joe called that morning to let us know he would be waiting for us and he was. Escorted us down to the boat and carried our stuff. Captain Chris was waiting on board for us. He was super friendly, gave us tons of info. Stopped and circled when he spotted a whale for us to go watch for a while and did the same for a group of dolphins. Now that I've been to Catalina Island I don't know if I would do it again (it was very beautiful and awesome but kind of a one time experience). I do plan on using them again for a private charter to just take a trip out and hang out on the boat and chill. Excellent service and great pricing if you know anything about private charters. Well worth it if you enjoy being able to do what you want when you want and have run of the boat. We will be back!

Reuben from Captain Newport was so amazing to work with. My husband and I were coming to LA to celebrate his birthday and wanted to rent a boat-- I am so happy we found Reuben. He was so responsive to all of our questions (and believe me I have a lot) and really made this a first class boating experience that was wonderful and easy. My husband and I often rent boats and this was by far the cleanest, newest, and well kept boat- everything worked -- including music, refrigerator, toilet etc. The morning we rented the boat we got a text from one of Reuben's employees confirming where the boat was located with the number of the person checking us in. Once we arrived at the dock, Bill was already there and showed us everything on the boat and gave us a rundown. It was quick and easy and we were cruising in no time. The whole team was so amazing to work with and really gave us quality service. We really felt like a guest on their boat and they really make an effort to make sure everything is perfect.
I would highly recommend renting from Reuben for a first class experience. Only thing that would be better is if they opened a location on the east coast!

Excellent service and beautiful boats. We took the boat for my birthday and were extremely happy with the customer service received. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting or living in Orange County. The weather here is beautiful and a day on the water does take all the stress away. I had a wonderful birthday and the boat ride was the highlight of it.

We rented this boat for my wife's birthday and had a blast. We comfortably fit 6 people all day . The boat is very clean and everything worked perfectly. The cabin is comfortable and spacious. My wife and I stayed on the boat overnight. Reuben was very friendly and promptly answered questions (via text) while we were out on the water. Can't say enough nice things about Reuben or this boat. Stop thinking about it and just book it. You won't regret it.

My family and I wanted to rent a boat to go out whale watching. We found the nicest boat for the price. It was beyond clean and the owner was super friendly. We rented the Sea Ray 2013 boat and it was in great condition. My husband manned the boat so we didn't need the captain and we went out to sea and luckily got to see whales and seals. It was the most amazing experience. I would definitely recommend Captain Newport for your future boat rental needs. It had all the amenities and I brought food on board for us. It was the perfect amount of time (8 hours) to explore the ocean and even dock and swim to shore. We had so much fun and didn't want the day to end. I highly recommend using Captain Newport for any and all of your boat rental needs. They answered my email so quickly and were there to greet my family and I when we boarded. It was a smooth process and I can't wait for our next boating adventure. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! They have three boats so I'm excited to try the newest one 2015 in the weeks to come.

Excellent experience. We rented Reuben's boat for my birthday with 11 friends. Reuben advised 8 people for comfort, but we are a close group and although it was a little tight, 11 people fit fine for us. The service was fantastic. Reuben was responsive, friendly, on time, and the entire exchange was seamless. Boat was great - clean, ran well. Overall, great day and great experience.

My friends and I had a wonderful trip on the boat yesterday! We had a chance to see some sea lions and dolphins. The sunset in Newport Harbor is so beautiful! Also good red/white wine and cheese snacks were provided as a complimentary during our trip! The captain was great, it was a lot of fun! Thank you, Reuben! We enjoyed our time in your boat!

My husband and I and our two daughters rented the 2015 Sea Ray. It was such an amazing experience. My girls loved every minute of it and we even got to see seals and dolphins.

It is a beautiful boat! New, fully loaded, easy to operate and exactly what I was looking for. Reuben personally met us and walked us through everything we needed even provided drinks for us. We brought food to have a picnic and the eight hours flew by.

Would definitely rent again.
